More Time for What Matters: Stephanie Neale on Home Concierge

Stephanie Neale has a full plate. She and her husband, Brian, are raising five children in a blended family while running Blind Zebra, an Indianapolis-based company that helps large B2B sales teams nationwide work more efficiently.

As Stephanie puts it, “I’m a mom and a wife and a business owner.” She and Brian are balancing family life with the demands of a business serving organizations across the country, so household projects could easily get pushed aside.

A Helpful Place to Start

Stephanie initially got started with Neighbor Serve through Neighbor Club, its self-service home management option. Neighbor Club helped her find reliable vendors and get a better sense of project costs and scope.

“Neither of us are particularly handy or know much about home things” Stephanie says. Their to-do list ranged from routine maintenance to larger repairs—including malfunctioning dishwashers, a roof leak, and critters in the attic.

Help with the Ongoing To-Do List

When Home Concierge (our premium white-glove home management option) became available, Stephanie found a way to make steady progress on the tasks that had been waiting. The service helps with small jobs like changing light bulbs and furnace filters, as well as larger projects like repainting the house. Landscaping and hardscaping are next on their list.

Before, arranging home repairs could mean setting aside a full day to be home for contractors and service providers. Now, Stephanie appreciates having time regularly set aside to get things done. She describes Home Concierge as “kind of life-changing for us.”

Making room for family and business

For Stephanie, Home Concierge is about more than crossing chores off a list. Having help with the house gives her more time to focus on her family and on running Blind Zebra.

Her advice to others considering the service is to “really think about what your time is worth.” She and Brian have often considered “what we should outsource” and “what we should take on ourselves”—and how to use the time they get back, whether that means investing in the business or spending more time with family.
