Priority Physicians, headquartered in Carmel, IN is a business that I’ve admired for years. I met Joe Rizzuto, COO at Priority Physicians, in 2024 and was blown away by the business their team had built and the experience they had created for patients.
At a high-level – Priority Physicians is a premium, membership-only medical practice where patients pay annually for 24/7 direct access to a physician-led care team, with each doctor carrying a defined amount of clients.
A business leader in Indy had introduced me to Rizzuto as we were in the early stages of building our Home Concierge service at Neighbor Serve, noting the similarities in the concierge models. Rizzuto was gracious with his time and shared that “15 years ago, nobody understood the concept of Concierge Medicine” and it took years of building relationships, working extremely hard, and creating a crisp process that consumers could understand. He encouraged us to go to great lengths to over serve our early adopters and be clear in how we impact families through Home Concierge. The conversation shaped much of how we operate our Home Concierge service today.

- Physical Exam: It starts with a 3 to 4 hour executive physical to build a baseline.
- Health Plan: During that exam, the doctor works with the patient to build a personalized health plan. From there, they track it over time and adjust as life changes, instead of being reactive.
- Dedicated Doctor: Every member has one doctor who knows them, their family, and their history. That doctor is backed by a care team that works together to provide 24/7 access and real-time support, and coordinates with vetted outside specialists when necessary. The practice puts a heavy focus on personalized preventive care, using progressive screening to get ahead of future health issues. Each doctor takes on no more than 250 patients. A traditional primary care doc might carry thousands. A smaller subset of patients means more time and better care.
