Pete the Planner’s Neighbor Serve experience.
When he speaks, Indy listens. Thousands of families, our neighbors, trust Pete when it comes to retirement, saving for college, and our careers. Let’s just say Peter Dunn, aka Pete the Planner, is a trusted Hoosier voice.
But Pete’s not perfect (hint…noobody is). In this IBJ article, he gives himself a B- grade in managing his home, not only a critical wealth-creation asset, but the place he and his wife are raising their teenagers. Pete’s a financial sage, but he just didn’t have the time or energy for his house.
Pete shares how Home Concierge by Neighbor Serve has helped. The IBJ’s Book of Lists (top local companies in various categories) was my bible, and I still read regularly. As a company serving busy families, often local business owners, this feature in the IBJ is huuuuge!
So we’ve got Pete talking about how we helped his family in the IBJ, but wait…there is another key Hoosier in this story. You see, Pete needed help with an uninvited tenant in the attic, a squirrel.
While working with the Dunn family on their home plan (yes, it was a bit intimidating helping Pete the Planner with any plan), it was pretty clear we needed to evict the squirrel.
We didn’t Google “squirrel removal”. The first result on 99% of search engines is the best marketer, rather than the ideal wildlife removal pro. Nothing against you marketing gurus, but I definitely don’t want you showing up to install hardwoods or evict a squirrel.
We did our homework and called AmPro Pest Management. Owners Brent and Kevin are military veterans…approrpiate for this week. They served their country and now they’ve been serving their neighbors for 35 years. They know their employees and their families. They see their customers at the Pacers game or at the Oasis Diner, near their Plainfield office.
Managing a home has a lot of parallels to financial planning. It’s important to prioritize the right things and choose the right company. When your finances and your home are in order, you worry less and sleep easier. You have more time for whatever’s important in your life.
Every startup needs a lot of help. And when we talk about ourselves, nobody cares (rightfully so). So thanks, Pete, for sharing your (and our) story. Thanks IBJ for publishing it. And thanks Ampro for taking care of the Dunn family!
