You know the drill. Something breaks—or you finally decide to tackle that project you’ve been putting off for months—and suddenly you’re deep in a Google rabbit hole. Scrolling through ads. Reading reviews that feel fake. Leaving voicemails that never get returned.
It shouldn’t be this hard.
That’s why we built something different.
Introducing the Neighbor Serve App
We’ve launched an AI-powered platform that makes finding the right contractor as easy as describing your project.
Here’s how it works: Open the app, tell us what’s going on with your home—”my deck is rotting,” “I need a kitchen remodel,” “there’s a weird noise coming from my HVAC”—and our AI matches you with the ideal contractor from our vetted network. No more guessing. No more cold-calling strangers.
Think of it as a superpower for your home.
But here’s what makes it different from every other app out there: there’s always a human behind it.
Our local Indy team reviews every match. If something goes sideways, you call us—not a 1-800 number. We’re neighbors, not a faceless platform.
Why We Built This
Dan Hanrahan puts it simply:
“Current marketplaces are powered by ads. If you don’t pay for the product, you are the product.”
When platforms make 100% of their revenue from contractors, homeowners get left behind. The contractor with the biggest ad budget rises to the top—not the trusted third-generation plumber who’s too busy doing amazing work to game the algorithm.
We flipped the model. Neighbor Serve is a membership-based club, like Costco for home services. We don’t sell leads. We don’t take kickbacks. We vet over 1,000 contractors every year and invite fewer than 5% into our network.
The only way a contractor gets referred is by earning it.
The “Mom’s House” Test
Every contractor in our network passes what we call the “Mom’s House Test.” Would we send them to work on our own mom’s home? If the answer is anything less than an enthusiastic yes, they don’t make the cut.
It sounds old-fashioned because it is. In an industry drowning in ads and algorithms, we’re betting on something simpler: relationships, accountability, and neighbors serving neighbors.
What Members Are Saying
Over 1,000 Indianapolis homeowners have already joined, and the feedback has been overwhelming.
Peter Dunn (you might know him as Pete the Planner) recently shared why he signed up: “My least favorite thing about being a homeowner—I’ve got two or three categories of trusted vendors, but there are so many I don’t. I don’t go down the path to solve those challenges because I don’t know who to trust. I like having a person for everything.”
Century 21 Scheetz—one of the largest real estate firms in central Indiana—hired us to serve their 400 agents and thousands of clients. COO Annie Hamilton explained: “We needed one trusted source for home services. Neighbor Serve saves our agents time and helps our clients buy and sell homes with confidence.”
And it’s not just homeowners who see the difference. Nick Giulioni of Off Leash Construction told us: “They pre-qualify jobs, saving us all time, so Neighbor Serve clients get our best service and pricing.”
Two Ways to Get Started
The Neighbor Club is our core membership—$96/year (less than Netflix). You get VIP access to our vetted contractor network, member-only pricing, and included services like a free HVAC tune-up, sump pump service, and water heater flush. Most members save more than the cost of membership on their first project.
Home Concierge is for homeowners who want their home on autopilot. You get a dedicated concierge who knows you and your home, annual in-home visits, a personalized maintenance plan, and someone to call for anything—expected or not.
As our GM TJ Jones puts it:
“Some busy neighbors want a single dedicated person to call for anything unexpected. We’ve embraced hands-on, concierge-level service, made incredibly efficient with our tech platform.”
Your Home, Managed
We’re not trying to be another app. We’re building something that puts trust back at the center of home services—powered by smart technology, backed by real humans, rooted in real relationships.
Stop Googling. Stop guessing. Stop stressing.
Neighbor Serve is Indianapolis’ home service club, connecting homeowners with the top 5% of vetted local contractors. Local. Curated. Hands-on.
