When Yan and her husband decided to pursue business ownership in 2023, she knew she wanted to choose something she genuinely cared about.
“Why would I do something that I’m not going to have a passion for?” she recalls.
Blingle turned out to be a natural fit. Yan loves Christmas and the nostalgia of holiday lights, but she’s also an avid gardener who appreciates what thoughtful lighting can do for a home and its landscaping.
“I’m a big gardener, so landscaping and being outside and seeing how a home can be accented with beautiful lights, even trees and stuff—that just spoke to me.”
That enthusiasm carries through to the way Blingle approaches each project.
Lighting Designed Around Your Home
One misconception Yan frequently encounters is that professional outdoor lighting is a one-size-fits-all service.
It isn’t.
“Some clients want to bling it out,” Yan says. “They want it bright, like you can see their house from three corners. And some clients want subtle.”
Blingle works with homeowners to find the right approach for their property, preferences and budget. A homeowner doesn’t necessarily have to transform the entire property at once, either.
“If they want to do the front yard year one and then do the side year two, year three, or what have you, it is able to be that way,” Yan explains.
That flexibility gives homeowners an opportunity to live with their lighting, discover what they like and continue building on the design over time.
From Landscapes to Special Events
Blingle’s work isn’t limited to one type of property or occasion.
In addition to landscape lighting, the team provides event lighting for celebrations and gatherings. Yan specifically mentions creating bistro lighting for local church events and festivals—temporary installations designed to completely change the atmosphere of a space.
But one of Yan’s favorite projects isn’t necessarily the biggest or most elaborate Blingle has completed.
It’s a home in Fishers.
The homeowner initially worked with Blingle for holiday lighting and later trusted the company with landscape lighting as well. For Yan, seeing both designs together was beautiful—but the ongoing relationship meant even more.
“What makes me proud of it is that she trusts me and my company and my technician to come back and keep doing projects for her,” Yan says. “That really shows the customer service that we give to our clients—that they’re willing to keep returning back to us.”
That trust is ultimately a big part of what Blingle is trying to build: not simply a great-looking lighting installation, but a relationship homeowners feel comfortable returning to as their needs and ideas evolve.
And Yes, They Do Holiday Lights!
Of course, there’s one type of lighting that’s about to become especially relevant.
Holiday lights.
Blingle’s holiday lighting is offered as a full leasing service. Their professional technicians install lights specifically cut for the home’s roofline, and homeowners can customize the colors rather than being limited to traditional white.
Yan has even created an entirely teal roofline for one client.
Once the lights are installed, Blingle maintains them throughout the season. If a bulb goes out or a timer stops working, homeowners can simply call or text the team. When the season ends, Blingle handles takedown and storage as well.
As Yan puts it, the service “just eliminates anything for the client to do.”
