Contractor Vetting?

The vetting process starts with a nomination from an already-approved Neighbor Serve contractor. Or when 3 neighbors recommend the same pro.

  • Prefer 51% of equity is held by people living in Indy-area. 9/10 contractors have local HQ.
  • Decision-making authority must be local.
  • Can Neighbor Serve call the owner?
• Balanced growth targets
  • Do you have capacity for new customers?
  • Do you have a balanced growth plan that ensures your team can deliver for new customers? 
• Responsive
  • When a neighbor requests service, pros will respond within 24 hours, ideally much faster, whenever they are “open”.
• Tenure of Employees
  • Experienced, tenured employees deliver better service. 
  • How do you treat and train your team?
• Locally Respected
  • Years in business says a lot in a town our size. 
  • How are you and your team participating in the community?
• Insured, Licensed, etc
  • You should always confirm this before hiring a pro. 
  • At the time of joining, each pro submits a Certificate of Insurance. 

A potential pro is sent to existing Pro Members for feedback and approval.

• 5-star Responsive Service
• Helping One Another
• Participating in Neighbor Serve
  • Sharing co-marketing content about Neighbor Serve or other pros
  • Referring at least 1 other pro member to a new project each year
  • Nominating at least 1 other pro member each year
  • Helping curate our pro membership
