Marketing Specialist

About Neighbor Serve

Neighbor Serve removes the worry and hassle of taking care of your home. We connect:

  • Indy-area homeowners (aka “neighbors”)
  • And vetted, locally-owned residential contractors

From plumbers to pools, handymen to remodels, we make it easy to hire top Indy-owned home services contractors and get their best pricing and service.

We are building a profitable, tech-enabled services company meant to serve Indy businesses, neighbors, and our team. Growth to new markets is possible, but it would be a measured approach to repeat our local, relationship-driven playbook with “boots on the ground”. We believe this is what’s been missing from the national tech approach to the home services challenge.

When business owners live in the communities they serve, they treat customers like neighbors. They care more and deliver better service. You won’t see every contractor…you’ll only find Indy’s best.

Role Overview

You will be the voice and the guardian of the Neighbor Serve brand. You are not just posting content; you are capturing the visual story of our work through video, managing external consultants to extend our reach, and leading our strategy for in-person events.

This is a highly entrepreneurial company. You will own the marketing calendar, ensuring that every dollar spent (ROI) and every piece of content created—whether by you or a partner—strictly adheres to our brand standards and drives business growth.

A Day in the Life

  • Social Media Command Center: You will manage the schedule to ensure we post every day across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. You aren’t just scheduling links; you are shooting and editing video content for social posts and collaborating with our contractor partners to create co-branded content.
  • Brand Guardianship: You are the “Brand Police.” You ensure anything and everything is on brand. This includes maintaining the brand playbook, writing service descriptions, editing copy, and reviewing work from marketing partners to ensure consistency.
  • AI-Enhanced Content Creation: You rarely start from a blank page. You use smart tools to prompt concepts and generate drafts for newsletters, blogs, and captions. You spend your time editing and refining—adding the “human touch” and local nuance that AI can’t replicate—to ensure everything sounds exactly like Neighbor Serve.
  • Event Strategy & Leadership: You don’t just attend events; you lead the strategy. From major Home Shows to local Farmer’s Markets, you determine where we show up, how we show up, and how we capture leads at these events.
  • Vendor Management: You will serve as the project manager for our external consultants. You will engage and manage specialists for graphic design, paid media, and PR, ensuring they deliver quality work on time.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: You will track weekly metrics to determine ROI. You use data—not just gut feeling—to decide which campaigns get priority and where we invest our time next.

Success

Success is defined by the growth of our brand authority and the efficiency of our spend. This looks like:

  • Consistent, high-engagement daily activity on FB, IG, and LinkedIn (including video).
  • A unified brand voice across all channels, with zero “off-brand” content slipping through.
  • High-ROI execution of events that generate tangible leads.
  • Seamless management of external consultants, keeping them accountable to results.

Traits for Success

  • AI-First Mindset: You view AI as a teammate, not a cheat code. You are an expert at prompting AI to get 80% of the way there instantly, so you can spend your energy on the final 20% that drives conversion.
  • Visual Storyteller: You are comfortable behind the camera and in the editing timeline. You know how to cut a compelling social video.
  • High Integrity: You represent the brand and our partners with honesty and care.
  • Analytical: You understand that marketing must drive revenue. You are comfortable looking at the numbers to prove ROI.
  • Organized: You can create processes out of complexity, managing a full editorial calendar and external vendors simultaneously.
  • Leadership: Looking for a self-starter who works to improve the business. You take ownership of the event strategy rather than waiting for instructions.
  • Detail-oriented: Willing to roll up your sleeves to edit copy and ensure every service description is perfect.

Weekly Activities for Success: (80% of your time)

  • Social Media Execution: Shooting/editing video, writing captions, and posting daily to Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Metrics Review: Analyzing weekly performance data to calculate ROI and adjust the content plan.
  • Brand Review: Editing and approving content from internal teams or external consultants (Design/PR/Paid Media).
  • Partner Collaboration: Coordinating with contractor partners to schedule collaborative social posts.
  • Community Engagement: responding to comments and messages to drive brand loyalty.

Possible Projects / Responsibilities (20% of your time)

  • Event Planning: Leading the logistics and strategy for upcoming Home Shows or community gatherings.
  • Brand Playbook Evolution: Updating our central brand documents as the company grows.
  • Consultant Sourcing: Identifying and vetting new external partners for specialized marketing needs.
  • Service Launch Campaigns: Creating the full go-to-market plan for new service categories.
